Never look ahead to the changes and challenges of this life in fear. Instead, as they arise look at them with the full assurance the God, whose you are, will deliver you out of them. Hasn't He kept you safe up to now? So hold His loving hand tightly, and He will lead you safely through all things. And when you cannot stand, He will carry you in His arms.
Do not look ahead to what may happen tomorrow. The same everlasting Father who cares for you today will take care of you tomorrow and every day. Either He will shield you form suffering or He will give you His unwavering strength that you my bear it. Be at peace, then and set aside all anxious thoughts and worries. (Francis do Sales)
The LORD is my Shepherd. Psalm 23:1
Not was, not may be, nor will be. "The Lord is my shepherd." He is on Sunday, on Monday, and through every day of the week. He is in January, in December, and every month of the year. He is when I'm at home and in China. He is during peace or war, and in time of abundance or poverty. (J. Hudson Taylor)
These words above are so encouraging.
On Monday night Feb. 1, I woke with a bad pain in my across my whole stomach. At 2:30am Denise took me the emergency room. After running tests they told us it was a bowel blockage. (Without sharing all the details) I went to another hospital where my doctor who did the surgery was. (He was glad we did, and so were we.) They shut my system down for 3 days and the blockage resolved itself (GOD ANSWERS PRAYER). I was released on Thursday afternoon and the doctors told me it would take several days to get back to normal. Denise and I know that's about a week for me. Denise and Grace really helped me through this. I'm so blessed to have them in life. I see all the doctors in two weeks for follow up. Through all this, inspite of all that happened God was with me. Sometimes I did feel Him there and sometimes I didn't and when I didn't Denise, Grace or someone around me would remind me that He was. I'm continuing to learn about God's faithfulness. In good or bad times. HE IS THERE, loving us through it. I'm still learning about depending on Him day to day and to be thankful for each moment.
I'm so thankful to pray, counsel, mentor, minster to whoever God has me come in contact with. I counsel two young men each week, attend different city prayer meetings, viisit the Signal Hill park and talk and pray with people, and I'm doing an End Times Bible study on Wednesday nights every other week. Pastor David and I meet and pray each week together. He is a blessing and an encouragement for me to push forward. He posted on Facebook last week..."Karl prays for a stranger's Dad who has been sick for year and she literally feels the arms of God around her. Four days later, her dad is walking and doctors find no cancer. She proclaims MIRACLE. Today, Karl is in the hospital. I stop trying to figure out why." When I was in the hospital I was feeling the same way. In reflecting I see God is growing my heart bigger for the hurting, sick, and lost people. Only, only, God's love can pierce the darkness and bring light and salvation. You see He is growing my love and I can reach out in the darkness. God is doing that in His body. He wants to be His hands and arms to the dark, lost world. But it is so so hard sometimes when we ourselves are going through it. .....I'm reminded that when I'm weak He is strong.
God Bless you and remember He is with you always.
Thank you for your prayers and encouragement.
